That Ventromedial Prefrontal Cortex Thingy
Published March 23, 2007 Philosophy , Simon's Posts 1 CommentTags: Descartes, Dualism
Oh yeah, we all know what that is. Just when you get your head around Descartes’ ideas about the mind and ‘our’ physical reality being connected through the pineal gland someone comes along and says ‘no, that’s not quite right. It’s the Ventromedial Prefrontal Cortex that is the causal nexus’. There’s a reason I chose Philosophy over Biology and I think this sums it up nicely. Anyhow, you can head over to news@nature.com to check out a review of the paper HERE.
On a more serious note though, what do you think of such a connection? Is it more plausable than the pineal gland theory?
